Deleting your account

You can delete your Nudgie account and its data at any time. This page exists because Google Play requires a web-reachable way to request it; the fastest route is still inside the app.

From the app

Open Nudgie, go to Settings, and choose Delete account. It takes effect immediately and does not need our involvement.

By email

If you cannot sign in, write to support@nudgie.io from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm the address before acting, and we will confirm when it is done.

What is deleted

• Your account record: email, display name, avatar, public key, status, quiet hours and theme.
• Your encrypted copies of composed messages, and every nudge delivered to you.
• Your push notification tokens, delivery rules and schedules.
• Your sign-in sessions, authentication records and subscription records.
• Your personal space and your membership in every other space.

What happens to your spaces

A space you own passes to its longest-standing member. If there is nobody to pass it to, it is deleted. Nudges you sent stay visible to the people who received them, shown as from a former member, so their history is not rewritten by your leaving.

What is not

Moderation reports are kept after the account they concern is deleted, so a pattern of abuse does not disappear when someone deletes and re-registers.

Backups

Backups are encrypted and kept for [RETENTION PERIOD], after which they are overwritten. Until then a copy of your data exists inside them, and we cannot remove a single account from a backup without destroying everyone else’s.
